The New Murphy Bed

The New Generation Murphy Wall Bed

Many of you may remember when we decided to buy a daybed for our visitors to sleep on in the guest bedroom. Originally, Q and I wanted to have a Murphy bed wall bed installed in the room but we decided it was too much trouble but now there is a website that addresses this issue. Slideawaybed.com offers the sofa by day, bed by night solution. This site is great because it offers a main design and several ways to accessorize or personalize the bed.

Build your bed. You can build a bed by choosing from thousands of fabrics and picking the wood finish. The bed is shipped Ready To Assemble (RTA) but don’t let that scare you. The typical assembly time is 3 – 4 hours. If you or your spouse is not handy with the tools, do what we do and hire a local handyman for $50 dollars or less and Bam! You’re bed is made.

The mattress is memory foam, how great is that? A memory foam mattress means no backaches or complaints from your guest. My mother-in-law just bought a memory mattress for her bed at home.

The bed is made in the USA, so you are also supporting American jobs when you buy one. You can save upwards of over $600 over a traditional style Murphy bed wall unit.

I think these beds are perfect for your New York studio or for your office/guestroom and I only wish I knew about these beds back when we were looking.
