I miss teaching.

Some days I miss teaching more than others. Today I got this note on Facebook and I started to tear up a bit.

Benjamin sent you a message.

Subject: Shotwell middle school

So today i was going through my parents attic, and I found one of my art ribbons from the Houston livestock show and rodeo. then i found the art work that went with the ribbon.
On the back had all the information of the middle school and included your name. It brought back many memories of your class and all the great times we had. You were SO influential and really helped me tap the resource of my creative side. Thanks to you i went to Carver High (an arts magnet school) and really discovered my talents and myself. I can only imagine how different my life would have been if i had gone to (XXXXX) High School aka Ghetto Ville. Thank you so much for being a wonderful teacher. God Bless.

Sincerely,
Benjamin F.

Is there anything better? I mean seriously. That is beautiful!
This just reinforces the fact that YOU ARE SO GOING TO BE MY DESIGNATED BABYSITTER for all phantom babies that I do not have.

Quit trying to front. Obvs you are AWESOME with children.

A long-delayed, but I am certain, well-deserved reward for your efforts!

You may not work as a teacher anymore, but being a teacher will always be part of you.

wow, makes that Emmy take a back seat, well, for just a few seconds! Awesome that he let you know after all these years you DID make a difference in his life.

Well done Mary =)
