Tujunga Village Holiday Open House

Tujunga Village is the area of Studio City that I live in. Once a year they have a holiday open house complete with Santa and a parade. All the shops stay open late and many have free food and hot cider. Q and I went last year and had a blast, so we couldn't miss it this year. One of the best parts of going is running into all our neighbors. I wish we had more community events like this.
Here are some of the photos I took tonight -
Santa was hanging out on the Pink Porch

This lady was handing out chocolate one piece at a time and people stood in line to get a piece. I guess they don't shop or have chocolate at home?

Vitello's was crazy busy
and this guy was playing jazz outside the restaurant. I love the banana on his keyboard - I guess he might want a snack in between sets or something.
These victorian inspired carolers went from store to store, it was a really nice touch.
Aroma Cafe was busy as usual.
This is Barnaby's Teriyaki. Q and I usually chuckle at this place as we pass by. I could never eat at a place that serves a "combo bowl"
It turns out that a new sandwich shop will be taking over this space in January - The Press Panini! I hope they have a veggie panini. I'll be sure to blog on this once it opens.
There was a live band in this parking lot

Parents always love a live band at these sorts of events. It helps keep the kids entertained. The kids have a chance to dance and burn off some energy. Good times for all!
There was a parade with ONE float, at least it was one really big float.

Edited to add - I found out from Douglas (check the comments) that this is the Magical Christmas Caroling Truck!!

This adorable group would line dance to songs like "Jingle Bells" and "Let it Snow".

As we headed back to the house we saw Matthew Modine and his Vanessa Willams look alike girl friend. Who knew he was so tall?

Hey now, wait a second.. Don't knock the little teriyaki place until you try it. I had it once a couple of months back and to quote Samuel L. Jackson "Man, that is one tasty burger!"

What? You live in Studio City and have never encountered the Magical Christmas Caroling Truck!? (SMILE)

This was one of our favorite parts of living in North Hollywood for several years. We would always head down to listen and even follow it for a few blocks. What a great time!

Hey, thanks for the blurb about Press Panini! And yes, we will DEFINITELY have veggie panini (vegan ones too). We had a great time serving everyone. See you in January when we open!
