Abercrombie & Fitch Flagship store at The Grove

Q and I were at "The Grove" this past weekend. Since when does the Abercrombie & Fitch store need doormen?
Since they starting having live models in the store!
They had the lights dimmed really low and the music was blaring. I was afraid to go in the store without club attire. I guess they really want to make shopping an experience at this store.

I don't really shop at Abercrombie & Fitch anyway, but I did notice that Micheal Kors has a store getting ready to open at the grove soon - now that's more my style!

If I was 18, I can't imagine NOT stopping in! Those boys are cute...

The punchline is, all that "club-like" design has resulted in an ENORMOUS drop in sales. They spent a bundle on the design of that flagship store, and it's backfired terribly.

Wendy, I hear ya, but at 38 it feels a little creepy to shop there at all. Here in LA especially, I see a lot of women that dress about 20 years to young. They usually have the overplumped lips too! I'm all for looking hip, but when you see that it just looks desperate if you know what I mean.

Davecobb, I think the grove crowd is too old for A&F, they should have put that store in the Universal Studios mall instead. It's a shame, because the Gap and the Banana Republic seem to do real well there.
Maybe they'll shut down and put in a Sephora instead! That would make me truly happy.

Skree..Abercrombir makes me nervous. I feel SO OLD there.

If you ever go to the Kors Store on Rodeo ask for Michael, and tell him I said hello. He is a sweetie!

my boyfriend usually stops in and gets helps himself to actually poking the shirtless guys and making comments. I won't go in with him anymore. There's a Barney's CoOp opening soon there too
